Professor Kelvin (Brian Krause) is an astrophysicist working for the government who must recognize and confront a violent cosmic threat: a huge burst of radiation hurtling toward the Earth following the cataclysmic explosion of a star in a nearby galaxy. To deal with the approaching menace, the professor devises a bold and risky plan -- a planet-sized gamble, in fact -- to shield civilization from the approaching deep-space danger.

If your a fan of the Hit Television show "Charmed" I think you will have more interest than most in this flick since Brain Krause has a leading role in this one. No offense to our friends over at The Asylum but I for one have grown pretty tired of these end of the world movies, there has been so many of them that I lost count somewhere a long the line. After watching 20 minutes of this you know this was not written by anyone with scientific knowledge but what the hell leave your brain at the door with this one just like with most movies today and that includes any big Hollywood release as well. Since we got that out of the way lets move on to the rest of the production, the acting was average to bad, the best being Mr. Krause and Heather McComb who plays his wife in the movie but again I wasn't expecting any award winning performances here. The effects are about as good as anything you might expect from a made-for-TV movie but no better and that was pretty much the biggest let down here since they play a very big part in a film like this. Now don't get me wrong, I do not think this is a horrible film it just could of been a lot better and we have seen better movies from The Asylum. Still if your looking for something different or need a appetizer for the big budget 2012 coming to theaters soon this should do just fine as long as your not expecting a 100M budget here. The film has a fast pace,Mr. Krause and a few attractive ladies running around to take you mind off things for a bit, what more do you want? Fear not The Asylum has another end of the world film coming soon called "Megafault" with a much bigger cast and budget but in the mean time this wasn't the worse film ever it was just not the best these guys have produced either.
