Martin Taylor has totally lost touch with his family. He has no clue who his teenage daughter's friends are, why his son only communicates with an electronic sign outside his bedroom door, or why his youngest child only watches faith TV. Convinced the family needs to reconnect, Martin surprises the wife and kids with a little experiment-he locks them in their own home with no power, no heat, no running water, and absolutely no contact with the world outside! The sudden holiday staycation isn't what the Taylors had in mind for the weekend, but they'll have to team up to prove they can survive Dad's wacky mission. With a heartfelt message and some persistence, one little member of the family helps put their priorities back in the pews, because they'll need all the faith they have to get through this!

Actor, Corbin Bernsen has had a long career in film and television playing many different characters but the last few years has seen him work on faith-based films and "3 Day Test" is his newest. The film deals with Martin and his dysfunctional family. But family isn't the only things Martin has to deal with everyday, his job as an accountant has him dealing with his forceful clients as well. Then there's his brother Sam, a doomsday believer and wannabe survivalist who convinces Martin to give his family a 3-Day Test, they will spend 3 days locked inside their home with no water, gas, light or phones. But that's not even half of it, they will also have to deal with a nosy neighbor who is convinced Martin has taken his family hostage and has called in the police and they will have to also deal with Martin's brother who is invading their home at night and stealing their stuff including their food and their dog.

"3 Day Test" manages to send it's faith based messages such as family is the most important thing but it does it without preaching or interfering with the story at hand. What I liked the most about the film was that it was much much different than any other faith based film I have seen, it's a fun little family comedy with a bit of "Home Alone" tossed in.

Acting wise everyone in the film did a terrific job, George Newbern is fantastic as the father who is willing to do anything to get his family back and Megyn Price provides a strong and funny performance as his wife. Francesca Capaldi, Aidan Potter and Taylor Spreitler are also great as their three children. I have to also mention Kevin Crowley, who delivers an hilarious performance as Martin's bother, He steals every scene of the movie he is in.

Production wise the film looks great considering it was done on a low budget, everything from the cinematography to the lighting are all top-notch.

"3 Day Test" might have an over the top premise but the story and dialogue from Corbin Bernsen is so full of warmth, heart and plenty of laughter that you can't help loving it. This is a terrific family film that I highly recommend to everyone.
