Miser Ebenezer Scrooge is awakened on Christmas Eve by spirits who reveal to him his own miserable existence, what opportunities he wasted in his youth, his current cruelties, and the dire fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways. Scrooge is faced with his own story of growing bitterness and meanness, and must decide what his own future will hold: death or redemption.

An animated retelling of Charles Dickens' classic novel about a Victorian-era miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions. In 2004 Robert Zemeckis wowed audiences with his computer animated Christmas Tale from the beloved children’s book, "The Polar Express. When it hit the theaters it was something completely innovative and fresh and now he is back with "A Christmas Carol" which once again takes a classic tale and breaths new life into it while keeping faithful to the original story. This Charles Dickens tale has been done many times but this Disney animated version still does it justice with it's story and magnificent CGI animation. The story is intact with the cheerful Bob Cratchit doting on his sickly son Tiny Tim, and willing to keep an open heart for the cold hearted, cranky Scrooge. Maybe a bit darker than other versions of the film but it is still a real crowd pleaser. The cast of voice actors did a terrific job, Jim Carrey not only does the voice of Scrooge but the voices of the trio of Ghosts that visit Scrooge, without being physically inn the movie he still gives one of his best performances eve . Along with Carrey you will notice the voices of Colin Firth, Gary Oldman and Robin Wright Penn among others. Disney's A Christmas Carol doesn't need much of a pitch from me here, it is a family film that is sure to provide hours and hours of entertainment that everyone can enjoy together and we just don't have enough of these kind of movies anymore.
