It’s the season of joy, peace, and goodwill… unless you live in Bailey Downs. Last Christmas Eve, two teens came to a grisly end in a school basement. Now, one year later, a new set of horrors has come to town. As three friends explore the site of the massacre, a malevolent spirit is determined to keep them there forever. One of the first cops to the scene of the bloody murders has new complications as his seven-year-old son exhibits terrifying and violent behavior. And when a local family seeks reconciliation with an estranged aunt for the wrong reasons, they suddenly find themselves running in terror from Krampus, the demonic anti-Santa Claus. Not even St. Nick is immune to the terror as he fights back against a horde of zombie elves. This is destined to be a holiday no one will ever forget….

Christmas is the time of year for giving and what better way to give then with a good bit of carnage. "A Christmas Horror Story" is an Anthology with four different stories going on at the same time but the pace never suffers because all four are blended together perfectly. Plus you have William Shatner as a radio dj which is simply cool funny as hell. I am not going to go into major plot details here because the above synopsis covers what you need to know but I will tell you there are zombie elves, a changeling, a ghost and Krampus himself.

Each story is well told and they all contain plenty of gore, scares and even some laughs. I enjoyed all four stories because they were are very different from each other but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Santa because he is a real bad-ass in this. Another thing I really liked about the film was the surprise ending and the way they wrapped the film up. Clever and well written, the film might suffer a little in spots due to it's budget but those are minor compared to all the fun there is to be had.

Acting wise everyone did a great job in the film, there were also some very nice effects and I really dug Krampus. I recommend spreading some Christmas cheer by giving the gift of horror with this entertaining gem that deserved a lot more attention than it got. The film is a fun way for horror fans to spend an evening. All four stories are very good and the ending wraps it all up perfectly so be sure to pick this up if you are a fan of horror.
