Seeing this in 3D obviously made for a much better experience but since it is not getting a 3D release right now I guess this copy will have to do. The 3D in this film differs from most in that it is not about seeing things jumping off the screen at you as much as it is the depth of the visuals. For this film I do not think they could of picked a better cast, Johnny Depp is perfect as the Mad Hatter and Bonham Carter is simply wonderful as the red queen, to me she was one of the highlights of the film. Crispin Glover is also fantastic as the red queens right hand man and Ann Hathaway brings a freshness to the White Queen. Also Mia Wasikowska did a terrific job playing Alice, I see a bright future for this beautiful and talented woman. There's been numerous adaptions of Alice but this one does a great job in pleasing the old fans as well as entertaining the new ones. The film seems to really rely on it's visuals for the first half but after that the story kicks into high gear and it becomes an exciting and fun fantasy ride. Tim Burton certainly has his on style that is easy to spot, you can tell this is a piece of cinema only he could make. His dark and moody way of making films at times can be a challenge for the audience but there is no denying his talent. Alice is a feast for the eyes and the story is easy enough to follow, even the parts of the story that were changed. If you are a fan of both the story and Burton plus this magnificent cast you are going to love this movie. The film might be a little scary for some younger children but over-all I thought it was fine and was more funny than anything else. Certainly not perfect, the film drags in spots a bit but over-all I thought all involved did a great job. The movie is available on DVD and BLU-ray as well as a three-disc combo pack that includes a digital version as well. The Combo pack comes loaded with extras that include:
