After his girlfriend, Rachel, vanishes without a trace on a camping trip, Matthew quickly goes from witness to suspect. Now, a year later, Rachel returns to the very spot from which she was taken… but not as she was before.

"Alien Strain" tells the story of Matthew and his girlfriend, Rachel. While out on a camping trip the unbelievable happens, Rachel is abducted by aliens. At least that is what Matthew told authorities and in the end it put him in a mental institution.

Matthew's doctor has sessions with him and asks him over and over what really happened out there but Matthew sticks by his story. And then one day when Matthew is out by the site where it all happened the unthinkable happened, Rachel returned. But she was not the same, soon after she began losing her hair and teeth and her skin began to peel away. The doctor tells Matthew that Rachel was sick with cancer but he insists that she was abducted and the aliens did something to her.

The story is told through Matthew as he tells his doctor what happened out there and what happened after his girlfriend returned. "Alien Strain" is a different kind of alien abduction film that strings the audience along as it tells its story, the truth isn't revealed until the very end and many out there will not see in coming. I enjoyed the film, it is told in a way that gets your interest right from the start and it keeps you engaged the entire time. The film could certainly be better but I thought it was entertaining enough and I liked the twist at the end.

Another thing that made the film enjoyable was the cast, everyone in the film did a good job but it was Michael Finn who played Matthew and Laura Gordon who played Rachel that carried the film and it is their two characters that keeps you watching, wanting to know more.

Like I stated before the film isn't perfect, it could have used a little work on the script but overall it was an enjoyable watch. The main characters kept me interested and the story kept me wanting to know more. I recommend checking it out if you like the genre and are looking for something a bit different to watch. Available on DVD June, 28, you can order it HERE.

Alien Strain" is slow moving but there is enough mystery and suspense surrounding the story to keep you engaged.
