Alvin (voiced by Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) are back, along with their careworn manager, Dave (Jason Lee), and this time they have competition: The Chipettes (Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and Amy Poehler), hired by Dave's nemesis, Ian Hawke (David Cross).

The Chipmunks are back and brought along the Chipettes to rock it out. I thought the first film was pretty well made as far as story goes and contained some good laughs considering what it is you are getting but I felt this one fell short on all that made the first one so much fun. One down fall here is that lead actor, Jason Lee had very little screen time in this film due do some timing conflicts between shooting his series and being in the film so the movie has to reply more of the chipmunks themselves and Dave's nemesis to carry the load and there just seems to be something missing.David Cross (Scary Movie 2) was kinda freaky yet very funny as the bad guy. The story here isn't as good as in the first film but for the kids it is simple enough and the young ones are not going to find any flaws in this one at all and that is the most important thing. Adults might find this one a bit too silly but if you just go with it you might find a few laughs along the way as well plus the most important thing here is it allows for some quality time with the little ones and that is one thing you can never have enough of. There is a great cast of voice actors here including Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and Amy Poehle as the Chipettes along with Justin Long as Alvin. Not as family friendly as other films like it but a good movie for the kids and one they will be wanting multiple viewings of so it makes it worth buying for sure. The movie is available of DVD and BLU-ray and contains special features that include:
