Larsan is a man on the edge, making a dead rush for Mexico and kidnapping two young girls along the way. He is hotly pursued by police chief Martha Geiger, herself a mother of two. Using the Amber Alert system, Geiger constructs a psychological trap that will brutally punish the man who came in to mess with her town.

"Amber Alert: Terror on the Highway" is a made for TV movie from 2008 that is making its DVD debut this week. The film's original title was "Desperate Hours: An Amber Alert." We all know that TV movies can be hit or miss for various reason, this one falls under the latter for more than one reason. The film has a messy story, poor editing and some things that happen in the film are just unrealistic. I can go on about the flaws the film has but I am not going to sit here and waste people's time reading it.

The only redeeming quality here is Tom Berenger as the kidnapper and he is the only reason to watch it but he cannot save the film. Fan's of the actor might want to check it out otherwise I think this is one to pass on. I really did want to like it but it is just too much of a mess even for me.

"Amber Alert: Terror on the Highway" is available on DVD with no Special Features. You can order it HERE.

This is a below average TV movie that is very forgettable even if you go into it with low expectations.
