'Army of One' tells the story of Dillon and his wife, Brenner. They have left the hectic nine to five for some alone time together in the Alabama countryside. But they make one mistake, stumbling upon what the thing is an abandon home in the middle of nowhere. After exploring the home they hid a hidden room full of drugs and weapons but before they get out they are met with members of the cartel grab them and torture them. But the cartel also makes a big mistake when the thought they killed the both of them but Brenner is still alive. Now she is going to use all of her Special Force training to make sure no member of the cartel is alive at the end of the day.
'Army of One' doesn't offer anything new or groundbreaking as far as action/revenge films go but it is a solid entry for a number of reasons. Done on a low budget but you would never know it. Right from the start I was impressed but the film's cinematography. After getting my attention the film jumped right into the story and once the action started it did not let up until the very end.
Another thing that impressed me was the action scenes. They are all very well done and very realistic which means a lot in an action film like this.
And last but not least the acting was excellent across the board but the film's main star, Ellen Hollman who plays Brenner kicks ass. Hollman's star is beginning to rise in Hollywood and her skills are on full display here.
Director, Stephen Durham did a fantastic job at keeping the action coming and the film moving at a nice pace. 'Army of One' is going to be a surprise hit through strong word of mouth. It is an Adrenalin pumping action film that is sure to please all fans of the genre. The film will be on Digital and DVD December 15th so be sure to check it out.
