Special Agent Emanuel Ritter leads a police investigation into a series of shocking deaths. But after a priest from the Vatican finds a link between the murders and an ancient demon, a descent into horror ensues.

After losing his family in an extremely tragic way, Detective Ritter must investigate a massacre at a school perpetrated by a student. What seemed like a pretty clear case becomes much more dense when a priest of the Vatican appears with another point of view.

I wasn't expect a lot from This film as I prepared to sit down to watch but man was I surprised by what I got. This is a horror/thriller from Mexican Writer/Director, Emilio Portes. He co-wrote the film with Luis Carlos Fuentes. It is also his first horror film and all I can say is I hope he does a lot more.

The film won Best Picture at 2019 Santiago Horror Film Festival and Best Special Effects at 2019 Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre and for good reason. Right from the start I was drawn into the life of Special Agent Emanuel Ritter as him and his wife are celebrating the birth of their first child. But things go bad for Ritter and in a hurry. The film then picks up 5 years later when he gets a call about a school shooting with numerous children dead and injured. But this is only the beginning of what is to follow as Ritter finds himself in an all out battle with the devil.

'Belzebuth' is an engaging, and unsettling horror thriller that has scenes of disturbing imagery and sound. It is a roller coaster thrill ride that will have you at the edge of your seat and scared out of your mind. This is one of the best possession films I have seen in a very long time. It has a solid and original script backed by terrific direction and an amazing cast.

The entire cast did a great job including, Tobin Bell, Tate Ellington and Joaquín Cosio.

The film will be VOD, Digital HD, DVD and Blu-ray on July 7, 2020. If you like horror films and did not see 'Belzebuth' yet then I highly recommend checking it out. I think it will quickly become a home video favorite among horror fans with its fast pace and its sheer terror.
