In BLOOD QUANTUM, the indigenous people in the isolated reserve of Red Crow are immune to the zombie plague that has taken over the nation, but that doesn’t mean their lives aren’t at risk. It’s up to Traylor (Michael Greyeyes, “Fear the Walking Dead”), the tribal sheriff, to protect the families residing on the reserve and a flood of desperate refugees from the hordes of bloodthirsty, walking white corpses that are closing in.

'Blood Quantum' is another in a long line of zombie films but it does bring some original ideas to the table. It deals with an outbreak that is turning people into zombies. Well white people anyway as the local indigenous people seem to be immune to the virus for whatever reason. Now that doesn't mean they can't die at the hands of the infected it just means they won't be coming back.

The film centers on the town sheriff and his two sons Joseph who seems to be the good son and Lysol who is angry because his father was never around for him. This caused a rift between the brothers and it plays an important part in the film later on. 'Blood Quantum' is a low budget zombie flick from Writer/Director, Jeff Barnaby. It doesn't reinvent what a zombie film is but there are enough new ideas to keep you interested and it also has enough tension and action to with some very cool kills and gore to make most fans happy. My biggest problem with it was it seemed to drag in spots so the pacing seemed a bit uneven at times. But I found it to be well made and the acting was very good as well so if you like zombie films then I recommend checking this one out. Blood Quantum is available not on DVD and on Blu-ray.
