Fading singer-songwriter Mikey Taylor (Billy Zane) believes that his dreams have come true when avid fan Matty McPherson (Estella Warren) picks him up in a bar. With her vocal talent, Matty appears poised to revive Mikey's career, but evil lurks behind her lovely facade. As Mikey becomes more involved with her, Matty awakens his addictions and demons, luring him into a cat-and-mouse game from which he is desperate to escape before tragedy strikes.
Blue Seduction is a Made-For-TV movie that is similar to "Fatal Attraction" and all the rip-offs that followed it. The acting could be better but for the most part it is pretty solid, the problem I think is in the writing. If you watch the film you can't help but wonder why these actors are all playing their roles over the top, some of the "unintentional" humor I think was done on purpose but it is still I writing that failed the actors here. Billy Zane and Estella Warren play the film's leads and at times do a very good job at doing so. The story is predictable except for the end which is a twist I never seen coming but should of expected since the movie played out the way it did. I didn't hate the film but felt it had the potential to be much better, you can only do so much with a story like this when it is made for Television but for what it is I think fan's of the Lifetime Channel might enjoy this one. I have always liked Billy Zane and I felt he did a decent job with what he had to work with and Estella is always nice to look at but I thought he took her character a bit too far at times. The film is slow at times and the music sounds more like it should be in a 1980's film but that too was ok to me. The movie itself could of been much better but for what it is I thought it was decent enough and should please any fan of these types of Television thrillers just don't expect too much from it.
