COLD BROOK is the story of Ted & Hilde, two ordinary guys in a small town who embark on an extraordinary adventure and risk everything for a stranger in need. It's a story about coming home; something everyone, everywhere has an innate desire to do.

'Cold Brook' tells the story of Ted and Hilde, two best friends who work as maintenance workers at Woodbury College. They do everything together whether it is going out for a few drinks, playing paintball or going up to Ted's little cabin. One night while working in the art museum after it is closed, they spot a man over at The Bernadine exhibit, which was a ship lost at sea in 1857. As they pursue the man, he simply disappears around a corner. Puzzled by what they saw they decide to call it in that a person is wondering around the campus and become local celebrities because of it. But when the man starts showing up around town they decide to investigate it more only to find out they are the only two people in town that can see him.

'Cold Brook' is a drama about true friendship, marriage and the desire to go home. The film stars, William Fichtner and Kim Coates as Ted and Hilde. William Fichtner also makes his directorial debut here and he co-wrote the script with Cain DeVore. William Fichtner does a great job keeping the film moving at a nice pace and him and Kim Coates show great chemistry together which comes as no surprise because they have shared the screen many times before. I must also give a shout out to Robin Weigert who plays Ted's wife, Mary Ann and Mary Lynn Rajskub who plays Hilde's wife, Rachel. Both ladies give fantastic performances in the film and the rest of the supporting cast all shine as well.

'Cold Brook' had me hooked from the opening scene and it only got more engaging as it moved along. It is a magical and touching film that left me with a great big smile on my face long after it was over. This is the kind of film Hollywood needs to make more of. A film that pulls on your heart strings with a perfect mix of drama, comedy and the supernatural.

Vertical Entertainment will release COLD BROOK in theaters and On Demand and Digital on November 8, 2019. Do yourself a favor and be sure to check out one of this year's gems.
