After a meteorite lands in the front yard of their farm, Nathan Gardner (Nicolas Cage) and his family find themselves battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism as it infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a technicolor nightmare.

'Color Out of Space' tells the story of Nathan Gardner, his wife Theresa and their children Lavinia, Benny and Jack. They have moved into Nathan's farm house that was left to him by his deceased father.

The family struggles to get use to their new rural environment but as they just begin to adjust a meteorite falls from the sky and brings with it something unworldly that begins to change the animals, foliage and even Nathan and his family. Before long they are in a fight for their lives.

'Color Out of Space' is another telling of the famous H.P. Lovecraft's 1927 short story. There has been several feature films made and I have seen a few of them and I have to say this is the best adaptation by far for many reasons. Director, Richard Stanley returns with possibly his best film to date. He co-wrote the story with Scarlett Amaris and together they did a great job at staying as close to the source material as possible while creating and fresh and original take on H.P. Lovecraft's Short Story.

The film is both eerie, and creepy horror/sci-fi that is even disturbing at times. As the film progresses the more strange and engaging it becomes but it also becomes more scary as well. The film also has its fair share of humor mixed into it as well and surprising it blends in perfectly.

Another reason why the film was so enjoyable is the cast. Nicolas Cage, Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Brendan Meyer, Julian Hilliard, Elliot Knight with Q'Orianka Kilcher and Tommy Chong are all great. Cage is at times his "Full-On" and it is awesome while Joely Richardson stands toe to toe with Cage as his wife. And I can't go without mentioning Tommy Chong who is fantastic as the pot head crazy that lives nearby.

I enjoyed 'Color Out of Space' a lot more than I expected to. It just has it all. It is a colorful, well told, funny and engrossing space/body horror that fans of Lovecraft and Cage are sure to enjoy.

'Color Out of Space' will be On Demand, Digital, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD/BD on February 25, 2020. It will contains the following Special Features:
