A drug trafficker arranges a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation. An architect recovering from an Oxycodone addiction tracks down the truth behind her son’s disappearance. A university professor battles unexpected revelations about his employer, a pharmaceutical company bringing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market. Set against the backdrop of the opioid epidemic, their stories collide in this dramatic thriller from writer/director Nicholas Jarecki (Arbitrage).

'Crisis' has three separate stories that involve the opioid crisis we face in America. Each story tells its own tale but in the end all three collide. These are stories that could be on the front page of any newspaper in America.

Writer/director Nicholas Jarecki does a fantastic job of telling the stories and blending them together in a much bigger picture. The film grabs your attention right from the start and its characters keep you invested in their stories because it is easy to care for each one of them in one way or another. As the film moves along the suspense and action picks up and so does the tension making this a must-see thriller that also tells a very important story.

'Crisis' has the potential to save some lives with its story and its cast will definitely bring attention to the film as well. Jarecki was able to pull in an all-star cast which includes, Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, Evangeline Lilly, Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez, Luke Evans and Lily-Rose Depp. Each and every one of them give strong, powerful performances but I thought Armie Hammer and Evangeline Lilly stood out the most with their powerful performances.

'Crisis' is an engaging and thought-provoking drama/thriller that tells an important story about a major problem in our country today. The film will be in Theaters February 26th and On Digital & On Demand March 5th so be sure to check it out.
