Cast: Rudy Ray Moore, D'Urville Martin, Lady Reed, Jerry Jones
Dolemite is a pimp who was set up by Willie Greene and the cops, who have planted drugs, stolen furs, and guns in his trunk and got him sentenced to 20 years in jail. One day, Queen B and a warden planned to get him out of Jail and get Willie Green and Mitchell busted for what they did to him. However, Dolemite is no stupid man and has a lot of warriors backing him, such as his call girls, who are Karate Experts--and lots more....
Dolemite, an outrageously funny and action-packed classic released theatrically in 1975, stars acclaimed, African-American comedian and filmmaker Rudy Ray Moore – who also co-wrote the film and its soundtrack – and was directed by D’Urville Martin, who also stars. Making its worldwide Blu-ray debut, the film has been fully restored in 2k from a recently discovered, long-lost 35mm negative and is loaded with extras.
Anyone old enough to remember "Dolemite" from 1975 knows just how bad in a good and entertaining way this film and all the Blaxploitation films of the 70's were. The film is sleazy and it has bad camera work and acting but all of that combined are what makes it such a cult classic that is now fully restored and available for the first time on Blu-ray in a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack featuring loads of extras including:
Interviews with Moore as well as co-stars Jerry Jones, Lady Reed, John Kerry, cinematographer Nick Von Sternberg and more!
