2AM, closing time: Tony and Matt are finishing up and getting ready to go home from the bar when Matt notices a woman on the bathroom floor, unconscious and bloodied. The two men argue over what to do with the woman, Matt wants to call the police but Tony doesn't want them involved because he is still on parole. After the woman awakens they find out that her name is Rose, she immediately begins to accuse the guys of raping and beating her. First she accuses Matt then Tony. As the game continues the mystery surrounding Rose gets thicker and thicker until that shocking ending.

Every once in awhile a movie comes along that just shouldn't be talked about because doing so would only ruin the fun and surprises that awaits, "Dose of Reality" is one of those films because nothing is as it seems and the less you know about the plot the better off you are. Right from the start the film is an attention grabber, full of mystery and suspense, the cat and mouse games that are being played between the three characters puts you at the edge of your seat. As Rose begins to remember what happened to her the story begins to come together but nothing is as it seems and no amount of details can prepare for the film's shocking ending. This is a film that tosses twist after twist your way until it's mind-blowing final scene that leaves you in awe of its utter brilliance. A story like this one that is dialogue-driven and set in one location needs to have a cast that can deliver convincing performances and the three leads don't disappoint.

Fairuza Balk as Rose, Rick Ravanello as Tony and Ryan Merriman as Matt all deliver brilliant performances, their chemistry together and ability to play off each other is remarkable. The supporting cast all did a great job as well. Writer/Director, Christopher Glatis deserves a lot of credit here as well. His writing and direction are flawless, this is his first film since 2005 and his best to date. He has made one potent thriller and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.

There isn't a lot more I can add here except to say that "Dose of Reality" is a must-see, must-own film when it comes to DVD on March 26, 2013. An edge of your seat thriller with the shock factor turned way up, a film that challenges as much as it entertains. Indie cinema just doesn't get any better than this so mark down the release date and do not miss checking out this gem. You can Pre-order the DVD HERE.
