Surfing is taken seriously in Ventura, Calif., and for JD (Khan Chittenden) and his shorts-wearing, job-hating, water-loving crew, nothing is more righteous than tracking down the heinous San Fernando Valley thief who's stolen JD's awesome custom-built surfboard. Veteran surfer Mike Mooney (Matthew Lillard) encourages the dudes' antics as they gather clues, rally the locals and turn their fun-filled summer into a moral mission.

When you see "National Lampoon" in front of the title of any movie the first you you think about is brainless fart and sex jokes with naked women and lots of beer and well that might sound like fun be warned Endless Bummer is not your typical film with "NL" attached to it. The film has some partying, women and it does have a fair amount of humor as well but it also comes with some drama as well. I have to admit I was not expecting this to be the kind of film it was but I was pleasantly surprised by it. The story is pretty straight forward, JD has his hero and Veteran surfer/local legend Mike Mooney build him a new board. But on the first day out with it JD turns is back for a minute and the board is gone, so with help from his friends and his hero Mooney they set out to find the board and make whoever stole it pay for what they did. The young cast of actors were all very good and I thought Matthew Lillard gave one of his best performances as the retired surfer. Also James Remar was great in his small role as the father of the boy that stole the board. I enjoyed this little comedy and I think it will do very well on DVD with strong word of mouth, there is some funny moments as well as a few tender ones and there are even a few lessons to be learned a long the way as well. Fan's of comedy will want to check this out just remember this is not the normal comedy National Lampoon puts it's name on which for a change is a good thing. The disc I received for review did not come with any extras but it is worth picking out for the movie itself, a good story, great performances, nice scenery and some good laughs makes this a highly entertaining movie that should please anyone looking to watch something funny without being offended.
