To reconcile the problems in their relationship, Myra (Anello) and James (Lawless) go to a cabin in the mountains where they encounter an ancient evil that haunts the land, capable of turning people into monsters.

'Exposure' tells the story of Myra and James who are heading into the mountains to James' grandparents home in order to try and fix their strained relationship. There seems to be several problems they need to fix. Both seem to be at fault in one way or another. Shortly after arriving James finds an old picture of his grandparents. He later tells Myra the story of how his grandfather went missing and how his grandmother was found killed.

Things also get a little stranger when Myra starts hearing weird voices and noises and James begins to act erratic. When they go on a fishing trip things go terribly wrong when James is bit by something that isn't a fish. Things slowly get worse from there and before she knows it Myra is in for the fight of her life.

'Exposure' is a slow moving horror film. It spends a lot of its time introducing us to Myra and James, filling us in on their back story and slowing giving us a feel that there is something evil in the mountains and land that surround them. The film relies heavily on its story and its two leads to keep the audience interested and it works well. The film has a sober mood to it and the emptiness of the woods around the cabin give us a sense of dread and isolation that really sets the mood for what is to come.

'Exposure' is a creature feature but that part of the film doesn't kick in until later on. I do think it could of used a little more of it earlier on in the film but the practical effects and make-up are very well done. I did not find he film to be scary but I did find it to be suspenseful and it does has a bit of mystery to it as well which should keep the target audience engaged.

Director, Austin Snell does get the film moving at a deliberate pace. Carmen Anello and Owen Lawless both give terrific performance and they really show a lot of chemistry as well. I look forward to seeing what these two young actors got coming next. The film also has a cameo from Indie legend, Lynn Lowry. It is always nice to see Lynn again.

'Exposure' is a horror film that takes its time settings up everything before all hell brings loose but in the end I found it to be a creepy, smart and entertaining horror film that kept me interested all the way through and a bit freaked out by the end.
