A young family faces a group of bandits who steal the last of their supplies; with time running out, they must form an alliance with the outlaws to protect their children.

'FEAR' tells the story of Josephine 'Joe' Allister, her husband Ethan and their two children, Josh and Mia. When a terrifying pathogen is released, they flee into the wilderness and have to fight off a band of marauders.

You can say 'FEAR' is an apocalyptic zombie film but although true it is more a drama about one family's fight to keep their children safe. If you go into this expecting a free for all gore fest with zombies running all over the place, you are going to be left disappointed.

There are zombies and there all action scenes but this is more a character and story driven film and I thought it was quite impression and a bit of fresh air. The film opens with a fight scene to get you into it and then it slows down so it can introduce the Allister's to us. It also uses flashbacks to fill in the missing pieces of the story.

I was hooked right from the start and was immediately invested in the family and their well being. I also enjoyed the film's final act but you might need a few tissues just in case. I thought the ending was perfect as well. Another thing that made the movie was the cast, Jason Tobias and Marci Miller are both fantastic as Ethan and Joe. I was also very impressed with Danny Ruiz and Josh and Cece Kelly as Mia. 'FEAR' and movies like it don't seem all that far fetched after what we have dealt with over the past year but aside from that it takes a tired genre and it makes something fresh and worth seeing. Credit has to go out to Director's Geoff Reisner and Jason Tobias who also wrote the film together. FEAR premieres on DVD and Digital June 15 from New Era Entertainment. I highly recommend checking it out.
