While passing through the backwater burg of Flesh, Texas, Donna Parker (Eleni C. Krimitsos) suddenly finds herself propelled into a nightmarish world when her daughter, Tabitha (Jada Kline), disappears from a filling station. After seeking help from the less-than-obliging town sheriff (Dale Denton), Donna goes looking for Tabitha -- a pursuit that leads to the insane, inbred Barley clan.

This is the second Independent horror flick I am reviewing this week that stars Joe Estevez, a rarity I am sure. As the film opens we are introduced to the Barley Clan, a family of inbreds that feed off of unexpected guests. Donna Parker who is just passing through makes a stop and before she knows it her daughter is missing. Not getting much help from the locals including the town sheriff who just happens to also be head of the inbred household Donna decides to find her daughter on her own. Flesh,TX is like many other horror flicks before it such as "Texas Chainsaw", with the crazed family that feeds off of human flesh. The Barley Clan have a mixed variety of characters making them up, you have Sugar, who is the good looking girl and the one that lures the men back to house. You also have Woody, the son who is as big as he is dumb but deep inside he really doesn't want to hurt anyone. The film is nice and gory with a good amount of killings and it also has a little humor mixed in as well. Like the one daughter who is having a baby, her name is Butter, the mother tells one soon to be victim that they are going to name the baby Margarine if it is a girl and Crisco if it is a boy also the father talks like John Wayne, I am not sure if this was done on purpose or not but I did find it kinda funny. Don't get me wrong the film is played out for the most part as a serious horror flick but there are those few moments of humor mixed in. I got to say I did enjoy this horror flick, it had interesting characters as well as enough blood to keep any fan of horror happy, also the end is left kind of open in case they wanted to do a sequel I guess. If you like horror this one is worth taking a look I wouldn't say that it is scary but there is certainly enough carnage along the way to please most fans. The acting was above average for the most part and the settings were creepy enough to get under your skin. The DVD comes with Special Features that include:
