Alice is a young investigative reporter. She suffers a sorrowful loss but finds an enigmatic commune where she starts to find her will to live and love again.

"Forever" tells the story of Alice, an investigative reporter. One night Alice and her boyfriend have a fight so she decides to just go for a walk to let things settle down. But when she returns she finds that her boyfriend killed himself in the bathroom. Devastated by what has happened she has a hard time coming to terms with it all, it was something she never expected. Not knowing how to move forward she decides to visit an enigmatic commune where she meets people who have also had bad things happen to them. At first the group doesn't want her there but as time passes they decide to let her stay. One of the men she meets is Charlie who witnessed his parents being killed by his brother. The two seem to find instant attraction and soon they are having an affair behind everyone's back.

"Forever" is a hard film to talk about which is why the original synopsis above is so small and limited. I am not going to go in to major plot details either because I do not want to ruin a film this powerful for everyone that wants to see it. The film does a great job at hiding the true identity of the commune or their motives. I for one was in total shock by the time the film ended. This is story telling at its best and I was sucked right into Alice's life from the open scene all the way to the end.

. Besides the amazing, well-written story another thing that made the film so good was the cast. Everyone in the film did a fantastic job but I would like to point out a few performances that I thought were special. Deborah Ann Wall is stellar as Alice. She lights up the screen each and every time she appears. Luke Grimes is also amazing as Charlie, I really hope to see a lot more of him going forward. And last but not least John Diehl, he is always a professional in everything he does and he again shines as the commune's leader, Neil who has secrets of his own.

And then there is the technical side of the film, right from the start I noticed how beautiful the film was shot and I must also give credit to Director, Tatia Pilieva who does an amazing job keeping the audience glued to the screen as the film moves slowly toward its shocking and disturbing end. Gill Dennis and Tatia Pilieva wrote the film so lets also give credit to both on writing such a powerful story. This is Pilieva's first feature film as a director and I for one look forward to seeing what this talented film maker has coming next. "Forever" is playing limited in theaters now, you can find out when and where you can see it by visiting the film's site HERE.

This is the kind of movie that takes you one way and then it tosses in a few twists and turns that leaves you shaken long after the credits finish rolling. I did not know what to expect from the film before seeing it but man was I pleasantly surprised by what I saw. I cannot recommend seeing this amazing and powerful piece of cinema enough.
