Like many couples, April (Nadine Ellis) and Derrick (Darrin DeWitt Henson) feel like the spark is missing from their marriage. With the demands of work and their hectic schedules, they find themselves in a six-month dry spell. Desperate to shake up their love life and rekindle their passion for each other, they decide to share a steamy night with their free-spirited friends, Christy (Michelle Krusiec) and Matt (Gabriel Olds). Soon after, April and Derrick find themselves dealing with unexpected feelings and must find a way to let go of the mistrust and fall in love with each other all over again.
"Four of Hearts" tells the story of Derrick and April who are having a dry spell when it comes to their sex life. Neither is to blame really, sometimes life just gets in the way and before you know it both are feeling the pressure. Derrick and April have two friends, Christy and Matt who are swingers. When April suggests having a foursome to Derrick he is hesitant at first but he eventually agrees hoping it will spice up their own sex life but the plan backfires because it creates tension between the two the never had before.
"Four of Hearts" is a realistic and thought-provoking look at relationships whether it is about love, sex or anything else. The realistic portrayal and the believable characters are what drives this adult drama.
Darrin Dewitt Henson, Nadine Ellis, Michelle Krusiec and Gabriel Olds give terrific performances as does the supporting cast as well. "Four of Hearts" is an entertaining film so if you like a good drama I recommend checking it out.
