Cale Bryant (Corbin Bleu) wants to get on the Grand National professional motocross racing team, and with his supportive single mom, Jeanette (Penelope Ann Miller), and sister, Bailey (Madison Pettis), behind him, Cale just might risk everything to do it.
This seemed to leave theaters as quickly as it entered it and that is too bad because what I thought was going to be a film aimed toward the "High School Musical" crowd turned out to not only be better than I expected but it also deals with a lot more. Corbin Bleu stars as a young man whose passion for motocross has to come second to his family after his father dies. There is plenty of exciting motocross action in the film if you like that sort of thing but the movie itself really isn't about the sport at all. The film is about working hard for what you want, devotion to those you love and being able to move on when things are not going very well. Free style is a film the whole family can enjoy together and it sends strong messages which is never a bad thing. Sure it would never win any awards and it never really offers anything new but it is an uplifting story that despite it's flaws still manages to be very entertaining. The cast was great I thought that the chemistry between Corbin and Sandra Echeverrķa as his love interest had together was fantastic and they both made their characters very believable. If you are looking for something with big effects or lots of action look elsewhere but if you want something the entire family can spend time watching together then this is a nice little movie for that. I think this might do very well on video with strong word of mouth, it certainly surprised me. I found it to be a much more enjoyable film than I thought it would be and I like the way they handled all the real life issues we all face at some point as well. I recommend this to anyone that likes motorcycles & High School Musical but it is also more than that so if you want to see something with some go drama, a few laughs and a story that is inspirational for the young ones then I say pick this up today.
