Tamara Miller has planned a weekend lake getaway with her two best friends. When she gets kidnapped by a backwoods cult, eerie and unexplained occurrences arise. Will she make it out alive or become the treasure of these deranged lunatics?

'Getaway' tells the story of Tamara Miller who plans a weekend at the lake with her two best friends, Maddy and Brooke. Things are going great until Tamara goes missing. She is taken but a crazy father and his two sons that believe by kidnapping women and sacrificing them they are doing the Lord's work. But shortly after kidnapping Tamara things start going wrong for the kidnappers.

One thing I want to get out of the way right away is this is a thriller and is not really a horror film so if you are going to watch this for all kinds of violence and blood and guts you are going to be disappointed.

'Getaway' is a slow moving, story driven drama/thriller that takes its time getting to real action. After the boys kidnap Tamara things being to pick up and right around the 34 minute mark we get our first twist in the story and it is one that will have you forgetting everything you thought was going on until then. There is another major twist right around the one hour mark that sends the story on its head. The film may not have much action but the story which was written by Director, Lane Toran and Jaclyn Betham keeps you engaged especially from the 30 minute mark on.

Another thing that I liked about the film was the acting which was solid for the most part. The leading actresses, Scout Taylor-Compton, Landry Allbright and Jaclyn Betham are the film's highlight as far as the cast goes. These are three beautiful and very talented young ladies.

I would have enjoyed a bit more action but the story kept me watching and eager to find out what was going on. Getaway will be available on DVD and Digital April 14 from Uncork’d Entertainment. If you like a good revenge thriller then I recommend checking this one out. It on suspense and surprises.
