God of Vampires is a new Independent action, horror, thriller from Director, Robert Fitz. You got to love the Asian influence here, the film to me has a "Blade Meets Mr. Vampire" feel to it. It has the modern setting with a present day hit man but it also has the Asian vampires and it brings along some of it's folklore with it. Like any other Independent film this one also suffers in a few spots from it's obvious low budget but the film-makers made use of every penny they had at their disposal. If I had to say what I thought was it's weakest flaw I would have to say it's the cast. The acting is a bit weak but not bad enough to drag the film down. Now saying the acting is weak isn't putting it down it's just that the rest of the production is pretty damn impressive. The film at times has a grainy look to it, I am not sure it that was intentional or not but it works well either way and it gives the film an authentic look to it. There's plenty of fighting and bullets flying for die-hard action fans and there is enough gore for the horror buffs as well. The trailer gives the impression that they film is loaded with vampires and action and that is exactly what you get here, non-stop action. I really enjoyed the action and the vampires took be back to some of the Asian films I remember watching, the lead vampire is creepy looking and just as mean, The make-up and effects are another part of the film that impressed me. Over-all this is a movie to sink your teeth into to, an action-packed, gore-fest that is both a fun and thrilling ride that doesn't let up till the very end. If you're a fan of the genre I highly recommend picking this one up when it comes out on DVD July 6th. The DVD comes with Special Features that include:
