A happily married couple (Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé) discover their friends are resentful of their lustful relationship. When a visit from a mysterious stranger leads to a dead body, they begin to question the loyalty of their so-called friends.

'Happily' tells the story of Tom and Janet a couple that has been happily married for 14 years. They are not really liked in their circle of "friends" due to the fact that hardly ever argue and that they have sex numerous times a day. But one day a strange man arrives at their door with a briefcase and asks to come in that he is from the city. After allowing him in the couple soon learn the man is not from the city and instead he is there because the couple are just too happy. He tells them it is not normal and offers them a check and a shot each that will turn them into every other couple alive. Janet panics and strikes the man over the head killing him and/or so they think so they bury the body.

After receiving a phone call from a friend that tells them they are invited to a couples weekend at a rented mansion they figure it is the perfect time to get away but they are also curious and suspicious of their friends who might have had something to do with the strange man.

After arriving they are not treated with the love they thought they would be but decide to stay and find out what is really going on. A discussion ensues and they will all reveal secrets and lies that will change everything, or will it?

'Happily' is strange yet clever dark comedy about couples and murder. There is a lot of talking going on in the film in between Tom and Janet's sex that is. The film has an assemble cast including, Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé as Tom and Janet as well as Stephen Root, Paul Scheer, Breckin Meyer, Natalie Zea, Natalie Morales,Jon Daly, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Charlyne Yi. I found it important to mention everyone because there isn't anyone that doesn't belong and because they are all terrific in their roles.

I assume the film is about perception and of course the secrets people keep from one another but I have to say I really found the film to be highly entertaining and very funny. To me it was some twisted version of "The Big Chill."

I had a blast watching it and I thought Writer/Director, BenDavid Grabinski did a fantastic job in the writing, developing the characters and finishing off the film in a fantastic way. I must also give everyone a heads up to stick around for the after credit’s scene. Let me now forget that the film was produced by produced by Jack Black.

'Happily' will be in Theaters, On Digital & On Demand March 19th 2021 so be sure to check it out.
