From the creators of Machine Girl , and Tokyo Gore Police, An alien-spawned, mysterious mist blankets the northern half of Japan, transforming those who inhale it into ravenous, flesh-eating zombies hellbent on devouring the surviving human populatin. Plunged into chaos, Japan is torn into 2 areas. The southern half of the country, where the population remains untouched by the deadly gas, lives behind a heavily-fortified wall, while the northern half is a lawless, zombie-infected wasteland.

"Helldriver" is Japan's newest over the top exploitation film. Sure this one is similar to "Machine Girl" and "Tokyo Gore Police" but I thought it took the craziness associated with the genre up a few more levels. Director, Yoshihiro Nishimura has so much creativity and imagination and He brings it to the forefront here. It's safe to see these Japanese films are a required taste and to talk about what goes on in the film other then what is already written above would not be helpful because "Helldriver" simply put is a visual assault. You really need to see the film to experience it's zaniness and talking about it just isn't going to do the film any justice.

The film is a non-stop barrage of action, gore and comedy. The pace is frantic and the blood sparying is in full abundance. Film's like "Helldriver" have a built in core audience, there's going to be those that get it and others that don't but for those of you that loved the creators other films I think you're going to find this one to be a real treat.
