Two-time Oscar®-winner Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) stars with Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows I & II) in this richly nuanced, emotionally-charged story of lost souls, new-found hope and Last Love. Matthew Morgan (Caine) is a widowed, world-weary professor living alone in Paris. The cynical Matthew sees no meaningful future for himself – until he meets Pauline (Poésy), a free-spirited young dance instructor. From their first chance meeting, each instinctively provides what the other so desperately needs: someone to call family. Even as they both struggle to heal the wounds of their troubled pasts – including Matthew’s attempts to reconnect with his estranged children (Justin Kirk, Gillian Anderson) – the unlikely bond they form ultimately leads them to rediscover the joy that only family and true friendship can offer.

In "Last Love" Michael Caine stars as a man that has never gotten over the loss of his wife and true love. He has given up on life as well as reconnecting with his son and daughter. That is until he meets the beautiful and young Pauline. The two connect right away and form a close friendship that ends up leading them both to seeing things in a new light.

Even if you do not like these kinds of dramas how can anyone refuse a film that stars Michael Caine? I for one cannot so I was a bit excited to check it out and I was not disappointed. I am not going to go into plot details here because this is one of those films that needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. But what I will tell you is that this film is full of drama that will melt your heart, it also has a nice bit of humor as well to lighten the mood from time to time but in the end it is a film about family and friendship. It is a thought-provoking film that will stick with you long after it is over.

When you have such a powerful little story you want to have a cast that delivers and this one surely does. I already mentioned the amazing Michael Caine but let me not forget about Clémence Poésy who is terrific as well playing opposite Caine as Pauline. And the rest of the supporting cast is fantastic as well including Gillian Anderson and Justin Kirk.

I love a good action film or horror as much as the next guy but it is nice to watch a film like this once in a while, a down to earth story that really affects its audience. I loved the film and I highly recommend it to everyone.
