A murderous shapeshifter sets out on a blood-soaked mission to make things right with the woman he loves.

'Lifechanger' tells the story of Drew, a shapeshifter who is in pursuit of a young woman named, Julie. He met her years before as her then husband. Since then he has jumped into many others. He has been a cop and a dentist to name only a few as he looks for a way to confront Julie and explain to her what really happened and to tell her he loves her. Years ago it was a lot easier for Drew because he was able to stay inside the bodies for years at a time but now he is lucky to last six hours before the host begins to decay. He was also able to leave whatever injuries he had behind but they too follow him now. He seems to be running out of time but he still pushes on changing bodies whenever he can. The bodies pile up as he leaves a trail of bloodshed while slowly closing in on Julie.

I was hooked within the first few minutes of the film, Drew's Narration also helped in getting me engaged in his story. One of the first things I noticed about the film was how well it looked. This is beautifully shot and the sound is just as impressive.

Another thing that impressed me about the film was the practical effects. They are used as a way to enhance the story but they are nothing short of amazing. To be honest there wasn't one thing about the film I wasn't impressed with. Another is the cast, you have to remember that there is a large cast here because Drew keeps jumping from body to body and all the actors who played him both male and female had to bring with them his same characteristics and they were all amazing. The film stars Lora Burke whom many might remember from "Poor Anges." I am waiting for this talented actress to become mainstream because she is really talented. Another actor that really stood out was Jack Foley.

I can't forget to mention Writer/Director, Justin McConnell who has taken the story of a shapeshifter which has been done before and made it his own. His vision is quite different, his take is both smart and clever. 'Lifechanger' has it all, mystery, suspense, tension, thrills and lots of violence. This to be is about as perfect an Indie film as you are going to find.

I am happy I got to review this for its Fantasia 2018 premiere. I imagine this will do extremely well moving forward because of strong word of mouth. I highly recommend checking the film out when you get the chance, it is an intense and powerful story that kept me on the edge of my feet the entire time.
