After global warming causes rising water to submerge half the earth, John Kubiak (James Brolin) and his sons (Ian Somerhalder and Jamie Thomas King) fight the elements and a power-hungry tycoon (Ben Cross) as they search for a lost relic with the ability to control the water levels and save humanity. If they don't find the artifact first, their nemesis plans to use its power to grab control of the world.

The Syfy channel is known for their special effects monster flicks but on this film they strayed away from that whole idea and came up with something a little different, more a Indiana Jones meets Waterworld flick which is a nice departure. After the effects of global warming most of the earth is now covered in water but there is a legend that there is a scepter hidden somewhere under water that can end the water problem once and for all. John Kubiak and his sons must not only battle the elements and mutant sharks to find it but also a tycoon that might have other plans for the hidden scepter and those may not include saving mankind. The underwater scenes are nice to look at and there is some good action scenes a long the way as well. Certainly not a classic but for what it is this is a pretty entertaining made for Television film with a good cast and nice scenery and camera work. If you like Indy and adventure films I suggest picking this up, you will most likely film it to be as enjoyable as I did plus the film offers a little message on taking care of our planet as well.
