How do you stop an earthquake? You don't -- normally. But things are anything but normal in this adventure that finds a seismologist and a miner teaming up to prevent an earthquake of epic proportions that threatens to rip the planet in half.

If your looking for a film with great characters and an amazing story look elsewhere because when it comes to disaster films those two don't exist. Sure the plot is scientifically impossible but who really cares all we want to see is shit being blown up and guess what? There is plenty of explosions to keep any fan entertained. The film sports a talented cast as well including Brittany Murphy,Eriq La Salle and Bruce Davison who all do a very good job playing their roles. It is hard to come up with anything remotely original for this type of disaster film just read the reviews online for "2012" and you can see that. This one involves earthquakes, and a fault line traveling across the USA. The Military and some civilian experts rush to come up the the solution, notably the character played by Brittany Murphy, that of a PhD seismologist. The plot is pretty original considering the genre but again you don't watch a film like this for story as much as for the special effects and this being The Asylum's biggest budget film yet I can tell you the effects are pretty damn impressive when you take into consideration that it is still a low budget film. Skip heading out to the theater for that "other" film and instead get some popcorn, drinks and the family together and crank the volume on this one. Megafault delivers on all fronts with it's fast paced action and effects that make it a highly entertaining thrill ride that is loads of fun. The DVD comes with Special Features that include:
