The Place For The Latest Movie Reviews
The massive prehistoric shark has survived the last battle, and the world is again threatened when a new, more dangerous foe is discovered in the jungles of Africa.
The internet sensation is back, Mega Shark returns but this time he has a much bigger and badder foe in Crocosaurus. I may not have enjoyed this sequel as much as the first one but that doesn't mean I didn't find this cheese fest to be entertaining. Like all sequels I felt the freshness of the original was missing and the the fight scenes could of been done a bit better and they could of had a little more creativity. But the film made up for it's negatives in other areas, for starters I think the story is a bit better and the film moves along much better during the non-monster scenes. There is enough drama and action even when the creatures are not visible to keep the film moving at a nice pace. Another reason for the success here is the cast, Robert Picardo gives a wonderful and convincing performance as the captain and Jaleel White and Gary Stretch are both great together on screen as an oceanic sound engineer and a drunken croc hunter respectfully, they play off each other perfectly and provide some good laughs along the way as well. Now to my favorite part or should I say favorite cast member, Sarah Lieving who plays an uptight FBI agent who joins the two guys as they chase the menacing creatures across the globe. Sarah has been and always will be my favorite actress to ever star in a Asylum film. Even in a pant suit and her hair pulled back she is still beautiful and sexy, oh and extremely talented as well. Also I though the locations were well chosen and really felt realistic like being in the Congo. I rank both the first Mega Shark and Mega Piranha a bit higher than this one but I still enjoyed the film and had a great time watching it mainly because the pace of the story and it's credible cast.
If you don't like the cheese why order the pizza? You know what you're getting here and it if it bothers you move on and quit your bitching but if you're a fan of The Asylum or if you just like these types of creature features in general then I highly recommend picking this one up. It was great to see "Turkel" again, him and the rest of the cast looked like they had a great time making the film and it translates back to the audience.
