Ulli Lommel's claim to fame is his 1980 film, "The Boogeyman", I would like to tell you he has continued to make impressive low-budget horror films ever since but I would not to telling you the truth. I pride myself in finding something good about every movie I receive because we all have our own tastes so something I might thing was great others might hate but I had a very hard time finding anything good here, the story was weak and the editing was very bad as well. What I have a hard time understanding is how this man is able to get his films sold. For starters each and everyone looks like his last, they are all done on what I hope is a micro-budget because they look it and they look like they were shot using a hand held camera. I support and love Independent cinema but it gets to be a chore watching these when there is not much improvement from film to film. Night Stalker is pretty much like all Ulli's other movies, the script is very thin, the acting is average at best and there is no really attempt to tell a story. He portrays Richard Ramirez as a teenager who goes around talking to himself about how much he hates women, sure there is some gore but there has to be a story to back it and there just isn't one here to over come the budget. Like I said before I try to find something good in every flick but this one I am at a loss with, all I can tell you is if you seen Ulli's other movies like "Baseline Killer" then you have already seen this one and you know what you are getting. Come on Ulli give a film that at least has characters we care about and a story that makes some sense, sadly I got to say the cover-art was the best thing about this movie and I can only recommend this to those that enjoyed his other movies or simply have nothing more to watch and just want to pass a little time, even then I think you are going to have a hard time getting to the end of this one.
