Debra Messing and John Leguizmo head up an all-star cast in this multicultural ensemble comedy that follows a trio of Puerto Rican siblings on their way home to Chicago for a Christmas season family reunion.

A story about family that is blessed with an amazing cast, besides Debra Messing and John Leguizmo the film also stars Alfred Molina,Elizabeth Peņa and Freddy Rodriguez to name a few. Each and every character is different and well-thought out, you care for everyone in one way or another. This is the story of the Rodriquez family. It's Christmas in Chicago and their grown children are coming home for a visit. There's brother Jesse who's just come home for good, from Iraq. Sister Roxanna, home from Hollywood and brother Mauricio who's home with his Jewish wife Sarah. The story is a slice of ethnic life focusing on the Puerto Rican community in west Chicago's Humboldt Park district with a predominantly Latino cast but the universal theme of family allows us all to relate to what is happening. Among all the comedies that come out every year this seemed to get lost so many of you out there may be surprised to know this had a theatrical run which is sad considering this is one of those movies the entire family can enjoy together, besides the terrific acting there is also a wonderful and tender story that contains just the right amount of drama and comedy which allows the film to send a positive message on the serious side of what family is all about while still being light enough to put a smile on your face. The film contains a nice little twist at the end which ties the film up nicely. During the holiday season, Nothing Like The Holidays is a great movie to watch with your family, as you'll see some stuff you can relate to, and some stuff you can laugh at. It's a fun time for everyone, and the first truly original holiday movie to come around in the some time.
