When John takes his San Francisco friends to his deceased uncle's remote ranch to hunt wild pigs, it seems like a typical guys weekend with guns - despite the presence of John's sexy girlfriend Brooks. But as John and his crew trek deeper into the forest, they begin tracking the awful truth about his uncle's demise and the legend of The Ripper -- a murderous three-thousand-pound black boar! Their pursuit leads them through fields of marijuana and into the muddy landscape of Big Wallow, involving high-powered weaponry, the violent and unpredictable Tibbs Brothers, massacred emus, a machete-toting Hippie Stranger, vengeful rednecks, and throat-slitting Cult Girls who grow dope by day and worship a Giant Killer Pig by night. By the time the pig hunt is done, no one is innocent - or unscathed.

Pig Hunt isn't your ordinary horror flick, in fact I would call it more an action/thriller but after seeing it I got to say it was also pretty amazing. There is so much going on in the film that it makes you dizzy at times trying to keep up with all the different characters and trying to follow all the action. The film had a "Deliverance" meets "Razorback" feel to it plus it is not without it's laugh out loud moments as well. Pig Hunt has it all, redneck hillbillies, pot farmers, sex-crazed cult girls, and a mutant killer pig. This is a blast from start to finish, it's an adrenaline ride that doesn't let up till the credits begin to roll. The film-makers did a terrific job picking the cast, each actor does a fantastic job playing their roles. The effects including the pig are excellent and the film has plenty of action and gore to please all fans of the genre. You might get the idea that the film borrows things from other movies and in some ways you might be right but don't be fooled Pig Hunt is one the most original and exciting times you are going to have in some time. Like I said before I would not call this a typical horror film, there are elements of it as well as elements of other genres but they all blend perfectly together creating one hell of a ride.
