In a desperate attempt to reconnect with her estranged son who is a passionate WWE fan, Rose grabs his attention by joining a rigorous training program to learn to wrestle like a legitimate WWE Diva. She convinces her bored fellow cashiers at the local supermarket to join her challenging new adventure and together they become the “Queens of the Ring”.

"Queens of the Ring" tells the story of Rose, a mom who is trying to win back the heart of her son after losing him when she was sent away to prison. Rose works with her three friends at a local supermarket. When she finds out her son loves wrestling she decides to become one herself but a local legend who just happens to be a trainer tells her she has to have partners she persuades her friends to join her. Together they learn about one another and themselves.

Queens is a French comedy that is full of wrestling action, laughs and a good bit of drama as well. I was expecting rose's story to shine through but I was surprised to see that all four women had their own story to tell as well. This made it very easy to connect to all the characters and feel for them.

Now do not get me wrong here, the film's main objective was to be a comedy and that it is. The dialogue is both funny and smart and there is even some very good physical comedy as well but I felt it was necessary to mention that the film also has a few heartfelt moments in it as well.

The WWE played a part in making this French comedy, they also have cameos in the film by The Miz, CM Punk and Eve Torres. They are also remaking the film for American audiences as well but I recommend checking this one out because I do not think they will be able to recreate the heart and soul of "Queens of the Ring." I am not saying that the film is great because it is not but I did find it to be a very uplifting and funny movie filled with excellent performances and a feel good ending. If you like a good comedy I recommend checking this out.
