To punish his cheating wife and save his low-rated talk show from cancellation, TV host Jack West (Kevin Nealon) attempts to pull off an audacious media stunt, which alters the lives of various L.A. locals, including a private eye (Tom Arnold) and a bogus finance guru (Christopher Titus).
This is one of those films that is hard to talk about without giving away too much of the film, there is a lot going on here between various characters, each with their agendas and motives. I don't think this is for everyone since some out there might become bored or too confused with the plot to sit long enough to enjoy the film but I can say the pieces and characters are nicely woven together as the film moves a long. Tom Arnold is great here but don't expect him to dominate the film like he has in others, I believe he is one of the most under rated actors around and his comic talents are terrific. The film is like a giant puzzle that slowly comes together in the end, I cannot call this is a terrific film but it is certainly different and engaging enough to enjoy it if you are willing to invest the time. The cast pretty much saves the film because of the story-line that jumps around so much. I recommend it if you are looking for something different to watch but if you go off seeing Tom Arnold on the box and think you are getting a straight ahead comedy you are going to be disappointed. In the end I give the film-makers credit for making something a bit different but one thing I felt the film needed as more character development but sadly that never happened. Still I was never bored and there was some clever twists and some good laughs as well along the way. If you like the cast I suggest picking this up but otherwise I think most will find it too tedious a film to enjoy. I like variety and Remarkable Power certainly offers that but I think it could of been a much better film than it turned out to be.
