A martial artist with extraordinary power (Eddie Peng) returns to the town where his father was murdered to face off against a ruthless crime boss (Sammo Hung) and bring justice back to the people.

"Rise of The Legend" tells the story of Wong Fei Hung in his early years. Asian fans will remember the name because there have been a number of films made about him over the years, most notably the Once Upon a Time series which starred, Jet Li.

Most films since then have taken liberties as far as story goes so this real life man and this one is no different but if you can over look that you should have a god time watching it. The film has a fantastic cast including, Eddie Peng as Wong Fei Hung and Sammo Hung who plays the evil leader of the Black Tiger Gang, Lei Gong. Both give excellent performances and the rest of the supporting cast do a great job as well.

"Rise of The Legend" doesn't break any new ground story wise and we have sen man films like it before. It can be a bit hard to follow at times as well and it uses flashbacks to fill in the gaps but if you keep your focus of the film you should not have a problem following it. The film's biggest attributes are the amazing sets and the fight scenes which are well-choreographed and exciting to watch. The fight scenes are also at times brutal but they are also edge of your seat exciting.

"Rise of The Legend" has a simple story the man who gets into the gang by showing them is martial arts skills when his real intention is to bring them down once inside. Like I said before it can be a bit confusing but over all it is well worth the watch especially for the acting and the amazing fight scenes.

"Rise of The Legend" is on VOD now as well is in theaters, you can check out where you might be able to see it by looking HERE. An exciting and breath taking film that fans of the genre will love.
