After Brian McDonald is found murdered on a beach, his sister, Sarah and his childhood friend Michael try to unravel the devastating mysteries surrounding his last few weeks alive, finding a side to her brother that they never expected.
Brian McDonald rose up the ranks to become a police detective, He's assigned a special case that he was hot on the trail of but a few days later he is found murdered on the beach. His sister Sarah is devastated and seeks therapy but she will never comes to terms with it all until she finds out the true. "Shackled" isn't an easy movie to talk about without giving away spoilers. The story slowly unfolds and it gives a little piece of the puzzle away at a time. This type of clever story-telling keeps you engaged and wanting to know more until all is revealed at the end.
There's a lot of good things to say about this little Indie, the story is well-written and it's never boring even during the slower scenes. There's just enough action in the film to balance out the more dramatic scenes and the story keeps the twists and turns coming which keeps you glued to the screen. The cast all did a terrific job playing their roles and Director, Dave McCabe really has an eye for the genre. This is one of the better films I have seen in the genre, Indie or otherwise. I look forward to seeing what this talented director comes up with next but in the meantime I highly recommend checking this one out.

I don't recommend reading about the plot details too much on this one, "Shackled" is a film that grabs your attention right from the start and doesn't let you go till the very end...it's better seen than being told told.
