When museum docent Chase Revere (Justin Long) and sexpot Lucy Shanks (Emmanuelle Chriqui) learn that their town's Revolutionary War battlefield is slated to be plowed under to make way for a casino, they launch a campaign to save the historic site. But as they take their fight to the voters, the unlikely duo runs into stiff resistance from a community eager to trade its heritage for easy cash.

The DVD cover will grab your attention right away with it's two popular stars, Justin Long and Emmanuelle Chriqui on the cover. These two are perfect together here with her quiet beauty that fits perfectly with Long's nerdy yet determined character. The movie stays entertaining for several reasons, one is the cast mentioned above but the other is the story. Besides the run-of-the-mill romantic comedy we are use to seeing there is also the story of this young man attempting to save his town and just when it looks like he is winning the war another twist has him on the losing end again. He must reply on his best friend and Lucy to help him win in the end but Lucy is looking for a better life for herself and is torn between her loyalty to Chase and those with the power to maybe give her the break she needs. A lot of serious situations in the film are the ones that lead to the more humorous ones and if you look deep enough into the film there is even a bit of food for thought as well. There is nothing ground-breaking here as far as the genre goes but with some clever writing and a solid cast it is one of the more enjoyable comedies to come out in awhile. Justin Long is a very likable actor that plays the nerdy, funny yet charming guy very well which is well he seems to be a busy actor nowadays. If your looking for something light to watch this is certainly a film that provides a good time with a little romance and some good laughs as well along the way.
