A creepy truck driver tells a trilogy of terrifying tales to a sexy stranded hitchhiker that include "Dinner Date", "Lot Lizard" and "Mongo Chupa".
As the film opens a hot blonde is stranded when her car won't start, but to her surprise a trucker just happens to be coming by and stops to offer her a ride. He proceeds to tell her stories of killings that have happened. That is about all you should really know about this before watching it. There is really four stories here if you include the twist ending which I will not tell you about. I am not sure what the total budget was on this film but seeing there was sound issues and editing flaws I would have to think it was an ultra low budget so going off of that I think everyone involved did a good job working with what they had. There's plenty of naked bodies and sex, some good gore and some of the dialogue is simply hilarious, I found myself laughing out loud several times during the movie. There is also one scene that will have all you men in pain for a week at least and it is easily the most disturbing part of the whole film. The cast is one some of you that follow Independent cinema might recognize, Scarlet Salem plays the young women looking to get a ride, this women has a body to die for and her acting isn't too bad either. The film also stars Rachel Grubb who is a multi-talented actress and is now producing and directing as well as writing. I have reviewed her work before and I really think she is one person to keep your eye on. Also I must give a shout out to actor, Marv Blauvelt, this guy has some real acting talent and provides a lot of hilarious humor in the film. Terror Overload doesn't break any new ground as far as horror goes and I kinda expected more gore from it but over-all for what it was and considering the budget here I thought the film-makers did a good job. I try to find something good in every movie I review if for nothing else but the respect for the work the film-makers put into their art, Terror made it pretty easy to find a number of positives, sure it has it's flaws but I was entertained till the very end. On a side note the audio issues I mentioned earlier are pretty bad right at the end, I am not sure if it was just the review copy I received or not but it seems to just cut out during the end scene altogether. Over-all I was entertained till the very end and that is all you can really ask for in any movie, if you like B-horror I recommend picking this one up. you can find Terror Overload and many other great titles at R Square Films website HERE
