Ancient mysteries. Powerful evil. And a fearless hero’s quest through a fantastical realm of steam-powered wonders and sinister magic… In THE ADVENTURER: THE CURSE OF THE MIDAS BOX, seventeen-year-old Mariah Mundi’s life is turned upside down when his parents vanish and his younger brother is kidnapped. Following a trail of clues to the darkly majestic Prince Regent Hotel, Mariah discovers a hidden realm of child-stealing monsters, deadly secrets and a long-lost artifact that grants limitless wealth – but also devastating supernatural power. With the fate of his world, and his family at stake, Mariah will risk everything to unravel the Curse of the Midas Box!

The film tells the story of Mariah Mundi, a young man hell bent on finding his younger brother, mother and father. All three have been kidnapped by the ruthless Otto Luger who will stop at nothing to find both parts of the amulet which in turn will lead him to the prize possession, The Midas Box and all the power in the world.

To talk about the plot anymore would only ruin the fun that awaits those wanting to see the film but I can tell you that this is a fun with action/adventure film that the entire family can watch together. If you like movies like Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes then you are going to enjoy this as well.

There is a lot to like here, the story is well-written and it provides enough action and suspense to keep everyone interested. It also provides a dose of mystery and humor as well. The film looks and sounds fantastic, I really loved the steam punk look it had.

And finally the cast was amazing, Aneurin Barnard is great as Mariah, he does a fantastic job playing the lead but he is not alone. The film also stars Michael Sheen, Lena Headey and Sam Neill who is terrific as the villain. "The Adventurer: Curse of the Midas Box" is not the best of its kind and it does have some flaws like a few slow scenes here and there but it is an enjoyable fun ride that gets you engaged right from the start. There is also a few twists and turns along the way as well and an important scene inside the credits as well that sets up a sequel which I hope happens. It is not often you get the chance to sit down with your children and watch a movie together, some of the material here might be a little scary for kids under six but kids above that should be fine. If you like a good action/adventure film, the kind we rarely get to see anymore then pick this one up.
