To celebrate the 25th Anniversary since its theatrical release, RLJ Entertainment will release the popular cult classic THE COMMITMENTS for the first time on Blu-ray. Based on a book by Roddy Doyle (The Van), written by Doyle, Dick Clement (The Bank Job) and Ian La Frenais (The Bank Job) and directed by Oscar nominated director Alan Parke, the film stars Robert Arkins, Andrew Strong, Glen Hansard, Kenneth McCluskey, Bronagh Gallagher, Angeline Ball and Maria Doyle.

In THE COMMITMENTS, Jimmy Rabbitte (Robert Arkins) knows he’s the world’s greatest band manager…. Now he just needs a band. Auditioning everyone he can find, Jimmy gathers ten of the most talented, least experienced musicians from the rough streets of working class Dublin, Ireland, with a plan to launch the best soul band ever to take the stage. “Sparked by fine performances by its young cast” (Rotten Tomatoes), THE COMMITMENTS is a loving tribute to the fire and passion of the great Soul standards including “Mustang Sally,” “In the Midnight Hour,” “Chain of Fools,” and many more.

The Blu-ray 25TH Anniversary Edition features a brand new interview with Director Alan Parker and Cast Members Robert Arkins, Glen Hansard and Kenneth McCluskey – looking back 25 years after THE COMMITMENTS’ release. Additional bonus features include: ·
