The film tells of a young couple, desperate to have a child, that begin treatment at a renowned doctor's secluded facility. The couple becomes suspicious when the medical regimen brings on psychological side effects and try to learn the truth about The Institute.

'The Institute' tells the story of Daniel and Marie, a young couple who desperately want to have a child but all hope seems lost after a botched surgery during the delivery of their first child. Looking online for anything that could aid them in their quest Daniel finds a retreat/medical facility called Lands Institute that promisies a new, ground-breaking way for those having problems having a child to finally be able to do so.

Upon arriving the couple seems to be excited and a bit worried as well about Dr. Arthur Lands' practices but other couples as well as numerous photos of success stories rest their minds for abit anyway. Its not long before Daniel starts to suggest things are not as they seem but that gets put on the back burner when it is announced that Marie is indeed having a child. But things quickly change from celebrating the news to something much more deadly.

'The Institute' is award winning filmmaker and critically acclaimed playwright, Hamza Zaman's feature directorial debut and it is a hit and miss. For starters thisd is a slow moving horror mystery and has a lot of drama for most of its run time. There is also a good bit of nudity which is either good or bad depending on your feelings about the subject. I do believe a good bit of could have been left out without the film losing anything. The film does keep you wondering what the doctor is really up to and I did enjoy its crazy final scenes and the ending as well. So not perfect but entertaining none the less. I look forward to seeing what Hamza Zaman does next as well as what the excellent cast including, Ignacyo Matynia and Victorya Brandart have coming as well.

'The Institute' will be to On Demand Platforms, DVD, Blu-ray and Cable on March 22nd. If you are looking for something a bit different to watch then this should fit the bill.
