Brimming with loads of slapstick silliness, this Jerry Lewis compilation showcases scenes from the comedian's late 1960s variety show in which he portrays an assortment of delightful characters such as a nutty professor, scoutmaster and hillbilly.
The name alone brings a smile to my face, I remember when I was younger having a great time watching Jerry's movies on television. To me there is no other, he is the master of comedy. Now comes this great Two-Disc set that highlights the Jerry Lewis Television show that aired on NBC from 1967-69. This is the first time that was has ever been available since it aired and I have to say it is about time. This is Jerry at his best, showcasing his amazing talent in numerous skits. His variety of characters were all hilarious including, Inspector Sam Lichee,Sergeant Goodguy of the Mounties and many more. Also during the time the show aired he was in the company of some of Hollywood's biggest stars including,Flip Wilson, Don Rickles, Janet Leigh and Lynn Redgrave. When I put this in to review it my 15-year-old daughter was in the room and at her age she really has never seen a Jerry Lewis movie but when the first DVD came to an end she was begging me to put the second one in. Jerry's family friendly slapstick is truly one that will last forever. The Two-DVD set contains Special features that includes photo gallery of 97 classic images of Jerry in a variety of roles and characters, as well as behind-the-scenes shots and personal family photos never before seen. Also, enclosed are eight limited-edition collector’s trading cards, the first in a series, and details on how to win a signed and numbered limited edition movie poster of Jerry's classic film The Nutty Professor with a retail value of $600.
The Jerry Lewis Show Collection, digitally restored and remastered for the highest video and audio quality, is presented in full frame with an aspect ratio of 4x3 and mono sound.
I cannot recommend owing this comic treasure more, not only can you witness a master at his craft but the collection is one the entire family to enjoy again over and over.
