Driven by revenge, Simon Carson is an elite killer for the local crime syndicate. One day he is sent to dispose of a young girl. He decides to instead save her.

"The Last Hit" is a film about a Hit man who ends up having second thoughts putting not only his target in jeopardy but himself as well.

To talk too much about the plot would only ruin the film for those waiting to see it so I am not to go into major plot details here but I do want to talk about the movie itself. "The Last Hit" was obviously done on a low budget but it looks much bigger. The story on paper is pretty straight forward but it moves at a fast pace, there is also plenty of action, suspense and even a good bit of humor in the film as well which blends in perfectly with all the drama.

You will be taken in by the story of a vengeful hit man who still mourns long after the tragedy that happened to him. When his newest target reminds him of a loved one he decides it is time to protect her instead of taking her out.

The performances by the film's two leads really helps in selling the story. Louis Pappas who plays the hit man, Simon Carson is amazing in the film. He handles all the action scenes with ease but it is his ability to display all the needed emotions that really sells it. Maya Juchtman also gives a terrific performance as the young Gabby, her and Pappas really show a lot of chemistry together. The rest of the cast was all very good in the film.

"The Last Hit" is a film that sucks you in right from the start and it keeps you engaged the entire time as you wait to find out the fate of the two main characters. It gets more and more interesting as it moves along and then out of the blue you are hit with a twist, a perfect twist that sets up an amazing ending. I also want to mention a few more things as well, Louis Pappas who stars in the film is also the screenwriter as well which is very impressive and I cannot close the review without mentioning the film's Director, Mike Glier. This was his directorial debut and an impressive one at that. I look forward to seeing what he and everyone else in the film has coming next.

"The Last Hit" is an intelligent and clever action/drama that deserves to be seen. One of those little gems you are not expecting, it is another example of how good Independent cinema can be. The film is available on HULU now, you can watch it HERE.
