'The Lizzie Borden Game" tells the story of a group of friends spending a Thanksgiving week together at a secluded castle in the middle of nowhere. Emily seems to be obsessed with the story of two local girls who went missing as well as the story of Lizzie Borden. The group decide to play the Lizzie Borden Game with a mirror and candles, but they never close it out, leaving open a portal for Lizzie to return.
Writer/Director, Calvin Morie McCarthy, has taken the Lizzie Borden story and has given a new spin while breathing new life into it. The story of Lizzie Borden has been told many times in film, but nothing like this supernatural spin that is sure to have you on the edge of your seat.
The location is perfect for the story with Its nowhere to hide or run atmosphere of tension, suspense and terror. The cast of five all did a great job playing their roles, including Jason Brooks, Laura Wilson, Jessica Noel Thompson, Chynna Rae Shurts and Charlie Dae. The director, Calvin Morie McCarthy, does a great job of setting up the story and developing the characters early on before all the mayhem begins. Once The Spirit of Lizzie is released, the film becomes a full-blown horror with lots of blood and amazing practical effects
The Lizzie Borden Game is a horror film that just might leave you with a fear of mirrors for the rest of your life. Fans of horror are in for a real treat when the film hits digital platforms worldwide beginning August 1, 2025.
