In THE PALE DOOR, the Dalton gang find shelter in a seemingly uninhabited ghost town after a train robbery goes south. Seeking help for their wounded leader, they are surprised to stumble upon a welcoming brothel in the town’s square. But the beautiful women who greet them are actually a coven of witches with very sinister plans for the unsuspecting outlaws – and the battle between good and evil is just beginning.

"The Pale Door' tells the story of the Dalton Gang. The gang is wanted in almost every state but that doesn't stop them from doing what they do. Their next job is to board a train and take the safe but they have one problem, one of their men got killed in a shoot out. Lucky for them Duncan has his little brother to help but he isn't crazy about it.

Things don't go as planned and instead of finding a safe full of money they find a chest with a young lady instead. And while all that is going on Duncan gets shot and is in serious condition. The young lady tells the gang that if they take her home they will receive a big reward and there is a doctor there who can fix up Duncan. With help too far away they decide to take the young lady home but after arriving they find themselves finding for their lives against a coven of witches.

'The Pale Door' starts off like any other western before it moves into the macabre. The film was directed by Aaron B. Koontz (Scare Package) who also co-wrote the script with Cameron Burns (Camera Obscura) and Keith Lansdale (“Creepshow”). Together they have created an engaging and terrifying horror film that are entertaining from beginning to end.

Another good thing about the film was its cast including, Melora Walters, Noah Segan, Zachary Knighton and Bill Sage to name a few. Considering the film was done on a small budget it looks amazing and the make-up work and effects are impressive.

I found 'The Pale Door' to be a fun thrill ride that has a lot going for it. It is a fight to survive western/horror that will keep you all the way to the end. Sure it has it flaws like any other film but I had a good time watching it so if you like horror then I recommend checking it out when it comes to DVD and Blu-ray October 6, 2020.
