The Seamstress was brought into being by the desperate curse of an innocent woman being tortured to death by a vigilante mob. Voracious for blood, the hideously-mutilated specter hunts a small group of friends who become trapped on the island where she died. The friends, led by Allie, are searching for Allie's missing father. As Allie comes to understand that he was one of the vigilantes, her friends begin to die gruesome horrific deaths on the point of The Seamstress' needle. When the last two surviving vigilantes arrive, locked in their own dance of death and revenge, Allie must either preserve her own innocence or be corrupted by vengeance herself.

I don't think there are many out there that don't love Lance Henriksen, he would have to be the biggest draw here besides it being close to Halloween and since it is a horror film I am sure many will be giving this a look at. The story is pretty straight forward, a young woman looks to find out what happened to her father so she gets a group of friends together and heads to an Island where her dad was. What she finds out is that there was a group of people that brutally killed a woman and her father was part of it all and now the Island is cursed. I am sure you can guess what happens next, if The Seamstress has any flaws it is in the story, the lack of anything new is certainly a let down, reading the whole revenge plot you begin to think of many other movies so it really doesn't have any new ideas. The film itself looks very good and the story is well paced and it keeps you interested in at least finding out how many of the friends will survive. As far as the killings go some of them are done off-screen and the film mostly takes place at night so other killings are a bit hard to see at times but it still supplies enough gore and ghost effects to please most fans. I did enjoy this but thought it had potential to be much better if the script was done a little differently. Over-all a decent horror flick that is fast paced and entertaining enough to recommend plus with Halloween coming you can't have enough scary movies in your collection. Pick this up, it is worth seeing just for Mr. Henriksen. The DVD comes with Special Features that include:
